Our project in Stavoren was a message in architecture. The nine houses represent nine iguanas that warm themselves by sunbathing.

The houses are in Stavoren are also warming themselves with help of the sun. The use the heath of the upper earthlayer with use of a heathpump. They have many windows in the direction of the sun and they use solarpanels to generate electricity. They are colorful just like iguanas and the colors represent the four elements earth, water, wind and fire. And the have been build of environmentalfriendly materials like larchwood, loam, paper and shells. Since 2009 the houses are surround by trees and bushes.

In 1999 all the roofs got solarpanels.

The message of the project is that we can stop climate change in a quite easy way. We already did in 1998. These houses did produce as much energy as they used. Below, you can see the film that the European Commission made of our project in Media Player.
